pay it forward

I meant to post this yesterday, but it was seriously one of the busiest days I've had in a VERY LONG TIME! Which is good- I love being busy! :) It also happened to be my 28th birthday. whew! Am I really pushing closer to 30? Sure am!

My day was filled with photo jobs, lunch with a dear friend, visiting friends who just had a baby at the hospital, and time spent with my bestest friend ever. We got subzero icecream and snuggled while watching CATFISH. Haven't seen it yet? I recommend it!

Anyway, a few weeks ago a college comrade of mine (from the same BFA photography program-she's a fabulous photographer btw... check out her blog here) posted the following on facebook:

"Pay it Forward 2011: I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment here. They must in turn post this and send something they make to the first 5 people who comment on their status. The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011."

Well, I just so happened to be one of the five and so earlier this week I received the following in the mail:

A BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE OF HOMEMADE VANILLA EXTRACT!

What an awesome homemade gift, eh?

So here's the fun part: in honor of my 28th birthday I would like to pay it forward. I'm going to change it up just a little bit though.

MY PROMISE:
Pay it forward 2011: I promise to send something handmade to five random people who leave a comment on this post. I will choose the 5 individuals randomly on TUESDAY, April 12th. So you have until then to comment. The random winners of my pay-it-forward must then promise to somehow offer a handmade pay-it-forward service and send 5 items to 5 people within the year 2011.

I had no clue what kind of cool item I'd receive in the mail from my friend, and I loved the surprise- SO I'm not going to share what type of handmade goodness you will receive from me if selected. Just know that I'll do my best not to disappoint.

xoxoxo
